High Cycle Fatigue (HCF)
A type of failure mode that occurs under dynamic load with typically more than 1e4 cycles; Testing for HCF is performed under stress/force control. The most efficient type of fatigue testing equipment for these tests are so-called Resonance Fatigue Test Systems.

Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF)
A type of failure mode that occurs under dynamic load with typically less than 1e4 cycles Testing for LCF fatigue is mostly performed under strain control. Servo-hydraulic load frames are the most common choice for these types of tests.

Random Fatigue Limit Model (RFLM)
A statistical model for evaluation of High Cycle Fatigue data. It allows the assessment of a failure free load level, which is a parameter of this 5-parameter model.

Ultra-High Cycle Fatigue (UHCF)
A type of failure mode that occurs under dynamic load with typically more than 1e8 cycles; Testing for UHCF fatigue is performed under stress/force control. The most efficient type of fatigue testing equipment for these tests are special Resonance Fatigue Test Systems or Ultra-Sonic Fatigue Test Systems.

Very-High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF)
A type of failure mode that occurs under dynamic load with typically more than 1e7 cycles; Testing for VHCF is performed under stress/force control. The most efficient type of fatigue testing equipment for these tests are so-called Resonance Fatigue Test Systems.
