The commonly found Situation...

Our first customer engagement often starts with a component failure during product development or in the field - in many cases after an extended, unsuccessful search for the root cause of the problem. We understand that there are many laboratories on the market that offer failure analysis at low costs. However, in our opinion it takes more than just running a few standard lab tests to fully capture and mitigate a problem during development and production. It is about asking the right questions. This is where the linked knowledge in Materials Science & Mechanical Engineering is key.

Our Approach

Gathering background information
This involves structured discussions with the clients' engineering team, covering all essential views to the problem:
- design considerations (FEA input when available)
- existing material & component processing specifications
- actual material & component processing details (supplier input) and limitations
- loading conditions & history

Targeted failure analysis
With the above input, the failure analysis can in general be targeted very well and be performed in a cost effective manner. Strong partnerships with a several independent laboratories provide you the highest level of expertise for a wide range of applications.
